How to choose Linux over Windows?

There are many reasons to choose Linux over Windows. First, the costs. Linux hosting has a lot of features included in the package. Windows require you to purchase most of the extra features. The other reasons could be:

1) Platform support for your website or web application (Choosing PHP over ASP.NET)
2) Linux is more stable than Windows (but I have also seen Windows to be more stable these days)
3) No virus for Linux (there are many Linux websites being injected with malicious scripts; Windows servers are known to be non-vulnerable to these kinds of exploits)
4) Linux is not hackable (Windows server protected with necessary security settings are not hackable too)

Well, so did I just advocate Windows? or Linux?

It is up to you to decide if you need Linux or Windows but I personally prefer Linux over Windows.
